Hi! I’m Maurilio.

Born in Arequipa, Peru, and raised in Summerville, South Carolina after moving to the United States at the age of three.

A pivotal moment came at fourteen while reading the Gospel before a local congregation as a representative of my school. By the time I stepped away from the podium, I knew my future would be one of three things: Priest, Politician, or Actor.

I picked the best one.

Today, I draw inspiration from icons such as Charlie Chaplin, Rowan Atkinson, and Bruce Lee, artists whose work demonstrates the power of physical storytelling and expression. My favorite filmmaker is Peter Greenaway.

Discovering his work inspired me to pursue filmmaking of my own and expanded my view of what cinema could be.
